WOW. Cannonballed this in less than 24 hours. Just what I needed to get me out of my reading slump. If you love stories about writers and thrillers with a “final girl” type of twist on it…this is the book for you.

Two things I loved: 1- The antagonist’s obsessive desperation over the broken friendship really spoke to me. We’ve all been a bit unhinged after friend breakup.
2 - The story’s villain was fabulous - glamorous, unhinged and horrifying!!!

I would love to see this book in film-form. It was just so visual!

This book surprised me a lot more than I expected it to! There were definitely certain things that I didn’t love about it, but overall I thought it was a good book. The beginning of the book had really random sexual things that just kept taking me out of the story, but as the story went on those got less and less. All of the characters were so different and I really liked the different characteristics they had, I just wished they had been fleshed out a little bit more. The twists and turns were wild and not at all what I expected which is always fun with a thriller! I would recommend this if you are looking for a different thriller that is a little more entry level thriller!

So many divisive reviews, everyone seems to either love it or hate it. And for me, it's just fine.

I read it in one sitting, so that definitely speaks to the readability of it, and the decent pacing. But I just wasn't blown away by the story or characters. In fact, I actually predicted the plot twist in chapter 2! Needless to say that I wasn't all that shocked by the events that transpired after lmao.

Still it was a nice enough read, and the ending made me quite happy. I prefer things that aren't so bleak all the time (Roza and I would not gel haha). So I would definitely recommend it. There's a nice gothic atmosphere due to the location, and if you enjoy books about books or writing (like me), well there's a lot of that, so complaints here in that regard.

I won this book as a goodreads giveaway and when I saw the reviews, I was highly anticipating the read. I was not let down. It's definitely outlandish and a bit weird, but I sure was intrigued the whole novel. There are a few things I didn't like - the characters acted more like teens than pushing 30, the excerpts from Alex's novel were boring. But overall, it was fast paced and a wild ride from start to finish. I don't always enjoy books about books, but I did enjoy this one.

THIS BOOK WAS SO GOOD. I could not put it down, but when it for super late and I had to put it down or suffer sleep deprivation, I had dreams about it. It’s that good. I loved how spooky and ominous it was and I thought all of the characters were so well developed. I will definitely be keeping my eye out for new books by this author.
