If you've never worried about sneaky cameras in BNBs, you will now...

As always, I'm impressed by Pomare's ability to write real, complex women (and men). Although not his best novel, The Last Guests is still a tense and winding read that keeps you wondering. This is a timely story with some solid research behind it, all the way from tech to the job of an ambulance officer.

If you're interested in the real-life concern of tech being used to spy on everyday people or already a fan of Pomare's writing, The Last Guests is well worth your time.

The Last Guests is a New Zealand mystery/thriller which centres around a couple’s holiday home which they decide to rent out to boost their income. The dark side of the web features prominently. Other key plot elements include infertility and the issues soldiers can face readjusting to civilian life. The prologue sucked me in and I was engrossed throughout. But be warned - it’ll have you searching your next Air BnB for hidden cameras!
