Me encantó esta novela gráfica. Al principio no entendía nada pero luego todo se fue aclarando. Me sorprendió la historia y como la autora logró tocar un tema tan delicado como el que trata en este libro. Melinda es una persona temeraria pero a la vez fuerte.

Speak was one of my first books I read by Laurie Halse Anderson and it was so moving. When I heard they created a graphic novel I was so excited to read it. The illustrations are out of this world and I’m so thrilled to buy this for my collection at school to share this with 8th grade since this is the last novel they read this school year.

TW: illustrations of self-harm, rape, depression

Loved the unconventional graphic novel artwork. would have understood the themes without the illustrations, could have done without some scenes.

This is the beginning of my adventure with this story. It’s weird because it seems more appropriate to read the original book or watch the movie first. I’ve wanted to read this story for some time now, and I saw this graphic novel at the store and I knew I needed it. I think after I read the original book and watch the movie, I’ll reread this, but overall I enjoyed it. The art was incredible and I am very excited to dive into the source material for this!!

Somehow the graphic novel format made this book new for me. I’ve read the original a few times, and this made me see it in new ways. Another masterpiece by Laurie.
