This is a collection (with illustrations) of some of Lin-Manuel Miranda's best good-morning and good-night tweets. Some of them are super inspiring. The man has a way with words (which I think is the understatement of the century).
It's really fast reading if you just sit down and go right through it, because, after all, it's tweets. But I think it's meant more to be something you can pick up and page through when you're having a rough day and need some pep or affirmation.

An example:
"Good morning, he said.
Be at home in your head.
Make sure joy is well fed.
Don't let dread hog the bed.

Good night now, and rest.
Today was a test.
You passed it, you're past it.
Now breathe till unstressed."

Also, if you read the gems on pages 20-21, you should probably check out LMM's interview on the Stephen Colbert show to get the context for these tweets and hear him read them himself. It's...meaningful.

I wish I could give this more than 5 stars. This is a wonderful collection of Lin's tweets which will make your day better guaranteed. I would recommend this book to pretty much anyone who ever needs words of encouragement, to be told you can do this, and that you are loved.

I was literally the embodiment of the puppy eyes emoji while going through this book. It's just... filled with such nice reminders, packaged in such pretty words. Loved it, and it really made me happier for having read it <3

(Also... anyone else a Miranda fan when these gmorning, gnight pep talks started over on his twitter? Nice!)

Both Lin-Manuel and Jonny's twitter feeds are delights, and these pep talks are always excellent ways to remind yourself that things will pass, and you matter. Could easily dole them out one day at a time, but as I mentioned in an update, I am greedy for affirmation as I tend to fall into depressive cycles.

4.5 // i went into this with the idea of lin singing me to sleep, not realizing it was going to be such a powerful book with such strong messages. this was probably not the best book to pick up as an audio (although it does have lin narrating it which is phenomenal as expected) because it seems at least to me more like the type of book one would keep on their bedside table and read a part of either day. with the audiobook i feel like i just binged five hundred different motivational messages all set in the same format which was quite the shock to my system. regardless of that fact, i would most definitely recommend this quick read, i am sad i wasn't able to see the illustrations :(
