Was this cheesy as hell? Yes. Was the mystery somewhat predictable? Yes. Did I love it with my whole heart?... also yes. This book was just what I needed to pull me out of a slump. Myles is everything I want in a man and I simped HARD for him. I loved Taylor and Jude's sibling dynamic and love for each other. The murder mystery was entertaining, but Taylor and Myles' growing relationship was the best part! The steam was phenomenal and truly the best part of the book šŸ˜‚ Can we get a sequel of Jude and Dante now, Tessa?!

I really loved this book. I mean itā€™s Tessa Bailey so I usually adore anything she writes but this might be my favorite of all her books. I loved how it combined my two favorite genres romance and mystery. It was well done and the spice was ā€œchefs kisses šŸ˜˜ā€. Great book definitely recommend you read it

As a big Tessa Bailey fan, I couldnā€™t wait to dig into another of her books. Donā€™t get me wrong, the comedic moments were great (Jude being prime example as the comedic character) and the spice! In my opinion, I think it needed holding off just a bit as there was no build up of the tension between the characters and with all the spice, the plot got lost in the background. This book is definitely insta-love but also insta-LUST.

This book moved very quick and so I felt like a lot could have been built upon but wasnā€™t. There were a few moments where I did cringe (looking at you chapter 4)!

I adored Jude and wanted even more - I wanted to know more about him and Dante and that whole situation. Both Myles and Taylor did annoy me at times and as it was so rushed, I didnā€™t connect with their relationship as well as I usually would. I got lust vibes and not so much romance until the last third of the book. I donā€™t mind insta-love but with this all happening over 5 days, it was TOO instant.

Overall, I think this book has a lot of potential, but think it just needed a little more attention to detail (quite a few grammar mistakes that made it a little harder to read) and time.

i don't know how to feel about this book tbh. it wasn't what i expected at all. i was all into the whole murder mystery thing and that's why i chose this book and i must say, i was really disappointed when 90% of the book was just the mmc and fmc flirting around, having (almost) sex and myles having his "i cannot have her, i'm not husband material, no strings attached / i want her so bad, my heart flutters when i see her, i want her to have my kids" inner monolog. i also didn't feel the chemistry between him and taylor in the beginning because it all just happened way too fast and was mostly about the sex and how gorgeous talyor's body is. i started to like the book more about halfway through and the epilogue was cute, too. one thing that particularly annoyed me: myles on the cover does not look like myles as described in the book and i hate that. what's with jude and dante? i would've liked more info on that! anyways, it was an okay read with great spice (very great spice) but definitely not one i'd read again or recommend to my friends with all my enthusiasm because the mystery part just wasn't enough for me.

I really love the other Tessa Bailey books I have read and looked forward to this one despite other reviews but the mystery element promised was really missing. I also wasn't a fan of the romance or of Myles.

Who would have though I'd enjoy a bit of romance, spicy, and sexual tense in my murder mystery book lol. I really enjoyed the characters in this book, very well developed.  I also loved the good girl breaking down the bad boy to find his soft center and the bad boy bringing out the good girls brave and reckless side.
