Somewhere between a slow burn and insta love this hot book with a good quick true crime based plot is great read for the slutty crime junkie. The sex toy scene in the parking lot is hot hot

This book had the perfect amount of suspense and romance. I think this might be the first Tessa Bailey book I’ve read where she has an active murder investigation going on and boy was I ever intrigued!
Taylor is on vacation with her brother Jude in Cape Cod when she finds the body of Oscar Stanley in their rental.
After that, we get Myles Sumner, bounty hunter extraordinaire. Myles is the complete opposite of what Taylor wants in real life. Marriage material. But the heart wants what the heart wants.
The banter and Myles soft spot for Taylor? My heart

I read a physical book and listened to it on audible. Listening to it was a mistake number one - I couldn't help but imagine the MMC to be an elderly man. Besides that, the plot is very sub-par and the characters are bland.

The book is very slow to get into, and I just didn’t like the plot. It’s a bit saucy here and there but it’s all out of place. I still finished it, and if I hadn’t read so many other books this year the score would probably be higher, I was expecting more after ‘It happened one summer’!
