I really loved this book - a f/f romance in a non-european fantasy setting is waaaay up my alley. BUT having read a whole bunch of really devastated reviews about the way the author appropriates and misrepresents the cultures she is borrowing from, I feel like I need to revise my review. It's one thing to celebrate cultures that are not your own, it's another to copy/paste centuries-long conflicts, cultural stereotypes and racial slurs.
