This is the first short story collection in the Sherlock Holmes series, following “A Study in Scarlet” and “The Sign of Four”. Some stories I thought genuinely intriguing such as “Scandal in Bohemia” (Irene Adler, love of my life I think), “The Adventure of the Speckled Band” or “The Adventure of the Copper Breeches”. Others (such as “The Red Headed League” or “The Man with the Twisted Lip”) I found downright ridiculous.

With most cases I could “deduce” (ha ha) the solution quite early on but I still enjoyed following Holmes way of investigating and the continuous banter between him and Watson.

The fact that they are short stories was great because you did not have to focus on a hugely complicated plot and could just read one story in a luck break or so. :)
