Ever since reading the first book in the series I’ve been looking forward to Sparrow’s story and it did not disappoint! It was such a sweet story about two men slowly falling in love with each other, despite their differences.

Luke was a total sweetheart and it made me somewhat annoyed that it took Sparrow half the book to stop being judgemental and realise how wrong he was about Luke. There were some twists I didn’t expect that made the plot more interesting and added some layers to the characters.

Overall a well written, slow but steamy story with some rope play and light kink.

Sweet, kinky, a little angsty

The sweet closeted rodeo star, recovering from an abusive relationship and dealing with injuries, and the protective Gaucho ranch foreman who hates the rodeo. Hot, sweet, kinky and adorable.

This is one of those lopsided enemies to lovers that I tend to enjoy. Sparrow truly dislikes Luke for a good chunk of the first half of this book. Luke is one of those ‘aw, shucks, t'weren’t nothin’ types who only wants the spotlight on his rodeo career and not all the other things he does. This is basically Sparrow slowly figuring out he was wrong about Luke and being a little furious about that at first. I liked this book a bit more than the first one in the series because I’m now more familiar with the players, and this is a fun set of characters all round.

2.5 stars, rounded down. Enemies-to-lovers is, admittedly, not one of my favorite tropes, but I enjoyed the first book in the series. Although I liked Sparrow fine in the previous book, I found him really annoying in this one. He's just, like, that one vegan at the party who loudly shames you for putting honey in your tea.

the RODEO cowboy and the horse whisperer. Good plotlines and I'm looking forward to reading more from Rebel Sky Ranch.

LUKE has been injured at the rodeo and needs to both recuperate and escape the media. SPARROW is not a friendly face - but reluctantly lets him work there.. A great starting dynamic and ensuing plot. The growing tension between them is well written, and the workings of the ranch all add interest to the story,
