I liked this a lot but I found myself zoning out a lot while listening to, so I would like to give it another shot one day. Really didn’t like different aspects of the audiobook so maybe I’ll try reading it again in book form one day.

Listened to the audiobook narrated by Paapa Essiedu and it was a truly immersive experience.

It’s very rare I say this, but I preferred the film by far!!

That being said, it was so good in literary terms, the descriptive writing was powerful, it just lacked gripping storyline. I think there should have been more haunting to the storyline. I think more background to the children dying should have been mentioned. It also would have been nice for there to be some form of closure to Jennets storyline (similar to the film).

However, I thought the ending to the book was SO much better than the film.
