this book had great potential but it failed to really convince me. It took me 2/3rds of the book to actually feel invested in the story. Olivia as a main character felt a bit bland. I think the Vilain should have been introduced earlier, convincing Olivia to go to the other side of the wall. Because this happened so late it the story the ending felt very abrupt in my opinion.

Spooky, mysterious, and captivating. This was my first V E Schwab book and even though I wasn't completely in love with this, I'm intrigued to read more by her.

I really liked the concept behind this book, and generally I thought it was done well. But I was a bit disappointed by the ending.

This was giving a little Wednesday Addams show and a little Mexican Gothic. I wish some of her books were adapted for TV and film but I know I'll be "the book was better" girl...
