It was my first V.E. Schwab book, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Despite loving the writing, the story itself was ok. It was a YA horror/thriller that for sure left me scared a few times (specially when reading at night

The writing is beautiful in true Schwab fashion but the story felt juvenile, I know this YA but it reads like middle grade. Not a bad thing overall just not the right book for me. I think I'll stick to her adult books in the future.
