I thought this would have way more mystery and intrigue. Halfway through it's still mostly a monologue of clothing brands and follower counts.

1.5. Something about this book just didn’t sit right with me. I struggled with the rating. Either a 1.5 or 2, but after sitting back a few minutes after reading, I just wish I never picked this book up. I don’t like giving harsh reviews, but after reading this book I’m still at a loss for what the point was. There were was a lot of mental health, rape, sexual abuse, and racism in it. It was played out so casually and disrespectfully. It also didn’t help that the main character, Mickey, infuriated me. It was a debut book, so I wanted to give it a shot, and hope the ending was going to turn this around, but unfortunately it did not.

This would have been a DNF if hadn't been stuck without a book for 5 hrs.

The premise is good and relevant, with elements of relatability (phone check impluses) but where the writer seeks to create a thriller/ mystery its just nonsensical writing not writing that makes you think, with an obvious answer.
Ideas of family issues were there , but felt incomplete and irrelevant, coming across as under developed padding

The pace is all over the shot and I'm struggling to think of when it really worked at all.

This book took me a while to read. It was okay but can’t say I recommend it. Strange.

This book was weird, and not in a good way. I got the author's attempt to portray a vapid millennial with no authentic personality, but I did not see why that necessitated ENTIRE PARAGRAPHS (like seriously, a whole page) listing her clothes and their brands. The 'twist' didn't make sense. Appalling writing.

I know now that I'll never go on Instagram, and I'm thinking about deleting my Facebook account. First, I need to scrub my entire body with a wire brush, and rinse my mouth out with rubbing alcohol.

I was on the fence about this book because it has a lot of mixed reviews, but I'm glad I gave it a chance. Its a very quick read- I finished it in one day because it was gripping and there was something I couldn't put my finger on. This book is not a deep commentary on Influencers which isn't what I was looking for but so maybe that's why. It's an interesting book with a very flawed character and a lot of things being exposed. Its one of those books where none of the characters are that likable, but I still am invested in what happens to them.
