I expected this book to be very strongly about Greek mythology, and while that plays a role, the story Clarke has written exceeds calling it just of that category.

I've read my fair share of weird stories, I've watched a myriad of strange and complex films. I was hoping to find something truly satisfying, engrossing, that would make me want to repeatedly read some passages and analyze them for hours. It didn't happen, unfortunately.
This wasn't for me. The first part was pretty compelling and I liked how the story was written.
Then, as it developed, it lost me. I wasn't caring about anything or anyone. It felt very repetitive and redundant. The last part didn't do very much to convince me that this was a really good book. It fell flat and didn't explore any of the themes it had been introducing. Very surface level.
