Not terrible, not amazing. I didn't know anything about Glennon Doyle before reading this, so I found her perspective as a motivational speaker unique. I liked how she was open about her journey from being a "perfect" Christian woman (to the point that her previous book was about how to be the "perfect" Christian woman) to a fully out lesbian, activist, and feminist. 

The messaging itself did get a bit repetitive, which I think comes from Glennon's motivational background; it felt like a bunch of mini-presentations about the same theme. Which was fine, just did get a bit repetitive near the end. Sometimes the messaging came across as "guru-ish" which put me off a bit. The humor was a little bit millennial to me but whatever.

I think this has a lot of useful messaging for women of any age, especially women dealing with life changes or struggling to come to terms with their true selves. Glennon touches on a lot of different topics with the running theme of accepting and unleashing your true self, outside of the constraints and boxes imposed upon us by society, religion, family, tradition, etc. Although Glennon is an activist, the memoir does skew toward the experience of a white woman (obviously) which may not be relatable to non-white women. I think it would resonate really well with white women struggling with holding their identity alongside their Christian faith.

I really enjoyed listening to Glennon recount her experiences of adapting to some of the big changes in her life. I also loved the glimpses of her adorable love and partnership with Abby. Thank you to whoever put a brand new copy of this in the Mill No. 1 (not-)little free library

Glennon Doyle has the unique ability to see inside my (and clearly many others') mind and heart. This book is raw and beautiful and challenges you to be the best version of yourself.

I have loved Glennon for years and I'm thankful that though I've owned this book for a while, these last few months are when I finally cracked it open. I laughed. I cried. I discovered myself and renewed my hope in women, children, love, and humanity. The quick chapters perfectly fit into my busy day. Highly recommended for any woman (or human) who has been tamed but something feels not quite right, or anyone who has been told to ignore their Knowing. You're a GD cheetah.

Chapters are more like short stories about her life. Kind of all over the place in terms of when things take place. A little self righteous in places. Some parts make you reflect on yourself too
