The plot was a little thin for my tastes and I wasn’t totally satisfied with the pacing of Libby and Chance’s relationship. Felt things moved a little too fast, but I guess that goes hand in hand with their initial “arrangement.” I thought Chance was a decent character, even if he was a little stereotypical macho at times, but I enjoyed the parts that were about him. His temper I found relatable. I’m also the kind of person to hold onto a hurt for a long time, so even though his resistance was at times frustrating, I couldn’t fault him for it. I’d be distrustful, too. However, I still think it took him a little too long to come around. I think the book had a nice ending though, which is what I held out for. After those two finally realized their hearts, the book got harder to put down. I’m also glad Libby’s dad came around, because he was insufferable and reminded me of my father-in-law.

A cowboy second chance romance

Libby and Chance were very young when they married. Anne Carrole does a wonderful job conveying that their breakup was more over outside forces than the couple.

I would definitely read another book by this author.
