There was a lot of Holloway said, Isabelle said, Holloway said, Isabelle said, which is handy when more than 2 people are speaking, but when it's just 2 and it's short utterances, the said said said can be very distracting. It might have been more noticeable since this was an audiobook, maybe if I were reading it myself I would be able to glide over them.
Other than that though, I really enjoyed it. Great ending, realistic characters with real flaws and real strengths.

Wonderfully done - I'd really like to see more of this, and he went away from the "fuzzies are from another planet and are really star-faring". Nice science fiction, nice comeuppance, and Jack Holloway is not the great guy from the original, but more complex.

I really enjoyed Starter Villain and thought I’d enjoy this book which seemed to also be about a guy and some “cats” but it was a lot different than I expected. Essentially a legal drama with all the male characters being variations of ultra macho men, all of whom are involved in basically a giant pissing contest. The constantly antagonizing dialogue between all these men was exhausting. And while I didn’t finish the book, it felt like one that probably doesn’t pass the Bechdel test. Just too much machismo for me. Might try to read the original as this is essentially a fanfic of Piper’s Little Fuzzy.
