Fuzzy Nation

John Scalzi

4.17 AVERAGE

This is why I love Scalzi's books - they're well written, to the point, full of action, and quite simply, their devoid of bullshit typically invoked in these kinds of stories.

I cared about the Fuzzy's from moment one and didn't stop feeling for their cause throughout the story. And even though Jack was an ass, you still loved him even though he was one of "those guys."

It's just one of those easy reads you can easily fall into and not escape until you close the back flap of the book.

John Scalzi is my new favourite sci-fi writer. Fuzzy Nation was so excellent in every way. The characters, the plot, the world building. Just so good.

Hilarious throughout with just the right about of heartwarming. I loved the witty, sarcastic Jack and all of his friends and enemies. The fuzzies and their world were so incredibly interesting. I can't wait to read more by this author!

Laughed and cried. Fantastic book.

I haven't read the original Little Fuzzy, so I can't speak to how Fuzzy Nation compares, but I thought it was entertaining story. It's also not that long, so it made for a pretty quick read. (I like long books too, of course, but having read some unnecessarily long books lately, I appreciated reading a story that got to the point!)

Fantastic. Wil Wheaton's reading of this was phenomenal. I couldn't have asked for a better listening experience unless Wil came to my house and performed it in person. The story also tugged at those heart strings that all pet owners and animal lovers have. I felt for the fuzzies and despite listening to this at work, chuckled and teared up in places. This is one of the best books I've experienced this year. Must find the original and read it too.

Jack Holloway defeats an evil corporation with witty comebacks and snappy dialogue. Fun, but light.

This book was a lot of fun. Fast paced, interesting characters, enjoyable sarcasm. I'm looking forward to reading Little Fuzzy, which inspired this book.
