This was fun!! I def don’t want Corey/Penny to be end game- I just love Alonso, especially when he’s with Penny. Corey’s character jsut isn’t my fav: even with his character growth. I’m def interested in what’ll happen next!

It has been a while since I was taken by a book like this ! It has all the things I love about YA fantasy.
The sad part tho is that I wasn’t aware this was released 4 months ago and now I’ll have to wait long before seeing my fav trio again 😭💔

"The Glittering Edge" by Alyssa Villaire is a YA dark fantasy book about two feuding families and a dark curse that surrounds them. When Penny Emberly's mom has an accident, she has to work with both families to try and save her. There is mention of the witchcraft, spell work, and
possession
.

To be honest, I almost DNF'd the book, but wanted to know how it ended. Although I finished it, unfortunately, I don't think the book itself is that great or interesting...or maybe it's just how it was written. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Race is brought up multiple times throughout the book, but it feels really forced and could really be taken out completely.
Although Charles is said to be "racist," I feel as if it's more that he is power-hungry and only cares for himself and his business.
I will probably read the next book because I want to see what happens, but I'm glad that it's just a duology.

A solid YA read that delivers well on what it sets out to do. The premise was engaging, and I think it's a good pick for younger readers or fans of the genre. Personally, it’s not something I would’ve picked up on my own (I received it through my FairyLoot subscription) but I still enjoyed the story overall.

This YA contemporary fantasy was very unexpected for me. I had it placed in my TBR as a book I wasn't super excited to read and it's become one of my favorite Fairyloot reads.

I'm unsure if I was just going in the mood for a book about modern teens falling in love or if it was a really fun book or both. I'm not normally a fan of books about witches but even that was enjoyable.

Alonso and Penny are wonderful characters and Corey adds a lot to their trio. I'll be trying to read the sequels to this book!
