a bit too slow for me. the writing style is rather dry, despite attempts at creating colorful characters. it was reading as very one-dimensional with each character having their particular "thing" and that being repeated every few lines. i'm not a huge fan of changing POVs either. sadly, this book wasn't for me.

I hesitate to say this because I know how popular this series is, but I thought this book was just okay. I have read more in this series and liked those, but the first one felt dry to me. I had a hard time connecting with the characters because there were so many of them. In a normal cozy mystery I feel like I don't normally mind because there is usually more movement or excitement, but it was just slow for me. I do recommend the second book in this series though.

2 stars. This was a bit of a let-down, though I found some of the interactions between characters very charming, especially Donna and Elizabeth and Donna and Christopher.
