Loved it! Cried and Laughed to tears! Amazing characters, enjoyable plot.
medium-paced

Okay-ish. I liked how the MMC was the opposite of how people perceived him to be, liked art and
never been with anyone before her
. The third act break up ruined though, bc of a misunderstanding. Why authors must do this?

Reminds me of Bones

This reminds me of the show Bones in the sense you have the not really unemotional person, but more logical person and the feeling person. Lucy is a great leading lady in the sense that she doesn't get all mushy every five seconds and all "I can't live without him!" She's smart and independent and anyone coming into her life is only going to add to it and not make her stop being true to herself.
Jenson is not what I expected. I really loved his character development. He is not the typical leading man and it was perfect. They grew well with each other and I'm really looking forward to the others in the series to not only dive deeper into the other character's lives, but to also keep tabs on these two.

Overall, it’s an enjoyable quick read - but you need to get past the female lead being a painfully exaggerated caricature of an autistic young woman, who seems to suddenly become a lot more socially adept overnight because she gained a female friend and a crush. The author also should really have done more research into the subject matter of the female lead’s post-doctoral research that she was struggling so much to design - it’s quite a well-researched and evidenced topic that means the main “struggle” of the plot was completely unbelievable. The rest of it was slightly better than average, but I won’t be rushing to read it again.

STEM FMC! Something about this reminded me a little of the Kiss Quotient with the genius and emotionally stunted FMC. Not usually a fan of college romances but this was a little different since she already has her PhD at 20. Slow burn, quick read, very light spice, good plot, and well written.
