“Once again, I arrived at my usual conclusion: one must educate oneself.”

Despite the Complete Persepolis being a graphic novel, it was really wordy which only slightly helped pace things. So much happened across the pages and it was hard to remember after reading. Despite that, the way Satrapi writes about her life and herself was very intriguing. I found Satrapi was never afraid to show when she was in the wrong or when she made bad choices. I also learned a lot from this book, both about Iran/ Iranians and just about people. My favorite part of this book was seeing how Marji interacted with various groups of people over her teens years in Vienna. The cast of people isn’t quite what I would say is diverse, but nothing seemed stale

Deals with the topics in Satrapi’s life in a manner that simultaneously coveys the severity and is easy to understand for a younger reader. A marvelous real story.

I love Satrapi's sense of humour and her stories are filled with dramatic ironies. I can't imagine what it's like to have lived through a modern war. I was telling my sis that reading stories like this makes me gain a better perspective of myself and my life. You know what, my life isn't all that bad 😅
