Read this in little over a day. Very quick and easy to read, especially after viewing the film which was not in English as the book. It’s such an amazing story that I’m disappointed I didn’t pick up the complete Persepolis instead to continue on reading, but now have to wait.

The story is about a young girl growing up during war and revolution, watching change in Iran during the 70s and 80s.

It was amazing to read and my first graphic novel. Highly recommend to anyone.

On a quest to learn more about the Islamic revolution in Iran from an Iranian perspective for a personal project. I loved that her memoir was in graphic novel form, which to me, was a better and unique representation. I loved how her perspectives of friends and ideals changed, but she was never right for Iranian life. I loved her parents and her grandmother. And I definitely learned a lot. Although, I didn’t like what she did to that innocent man and so glad her grandmother yelled at her. Sometimes, she was too much and you got the feeling that some close people wanted to slap her.

I do recommend this book for getting this different perspective to what you see on the news and read in books. Plus, the graphic novel format made it amazing. Loved the drawings
