Wow! I really loved this book, this whole series, when I first read it back in the 80s. I can’t imagine why, now. Probably because it was such a twist on the High Fantasy I had been reading for years. This time around, I just got so frustrated with Thomas Covenant’s one note song. Booooring! Dude just keeps repeating himself, and it isn’t believable or interesting. So sad. I was looking forward to rereading the whole series, but I struggled to get through this one. I’m out. Oh well.

Revisiting an old favourite. Not sure if it holds up as well as I'd hoped, but fond memories.

No he sido capaz de congeniar con el prota, y cuando el protagonista te cae fatal cuesta mucho meterse en la historia, que por otra parte me ha parecido bastante simple.
El libro está bien escrito, pero se me ha hecho eterno.

I think I would have loved this book 20 years ago but it's not holding up for me now.

Thomas Covenant is a difficult and recalcitrant anti-hero. While the books are easy to read and maintain a good pace, I found it challenging but rewarding to try to feel Covenant's frustration and despair. Without the effort to sympathize with him, I found his fractious rage distracting and bewildering; but when I managed to immerse myself in his point of view, his ennui added additional depth to the book.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Unlike any book I've read. I can tell this book is a masterpiece from the beautiful prose, but its so hard to understand all that is going on in The Land. Thomas is dreadful human.

Initially, I decided to write a hate review for this one, mainly because of the infamous rape scene.
however, at last, I gathered that it's for the best to say nothing but the fact that this "art" wasn't my thing. I loved it till I reached "that" scene and then I hated it and couldn't continue.

Would have burnt it had I bought the physical copy.
