I'm probably going to have the same average rating for the entire Alex Rider series, but I do like that we're getting more of a backstory with Alex's parents and less "villain of the week" escapades.

This was an okay read but not my favourite in the series. I feel like I'd want to re-read some of the earlier books but this is the point where I think I'd start to lose interest. They just don't ring the same this far in, they start to lose some of their charm.

Found it harder than ever to suspend disbelief with this one to just enjoy it for what it is, to be honest! But, still enjoying the series and liking that some truths are coming to light. Although I must say, I had seen that this one ended on a cliffhanger and I was a bit disappointed because I thought
Spoiler that either Julia whatserface or Mrs Jones would turn out to be his mum :D
Still, I will be going straight on to book 6 ....
