Is this my favorite book in the series?
HELL YEA.
But I think I would have loved it if Alex's dad was the bad guy. It would have allowed a lot of character development on Alex's part.
But otherwise. Ohmygod so many plot twists.

I feel like the author is just recycling plot from earlier books in the series - this was very similar to the plot of book 2. It's still very fast paced, but I'm getting a little bored with MI6 seeming to turn heel every 4 chapters. There was a very quick development in maturity, and the plot twists can still be seen from 100 miles away.

In Anthony Hororwitz fifth Alex Rider novel, Scorpia, we find Alex as we left off from the last book, Eagle Strike. Devastated by the knowledge that his father, John Rider may have been an assassin for a large criminal organization, Scorpia.
Not being able to ask MI6, Alex does the only thing he can do, he goes to find the answers himself. Now Scorpia want him on their side and Alex believes he has no other choice, that is until he learns of Scorpia's new plot, one that will kill thousands, and Alex will do anything to stop it.
Alex is a teen spy-- who work's for MI6, though in the last book Alex goes on a mission by himself without the backing of MI6. During the end of that book Alex learned some pretty heavy stuff from the assassin, Yassen Gregorvich, who as it turns out knew his father. Before Yassen died he told Alex to "go to Venice and find Scorpia--and that he would find his destiny."
So that is where this book starts off, Alex is in Venice for a few days with his friend Tom Harris, after spending some time there they are to leave for Tom's brothers, Jerry, in Naples. On there last day there Alex finally find a lead. This is the start of what has to be my favorite Alex Rider novel so far.
The book has many plot twists and we get some very shocking revelations about Alex's father. I loved it, and though I do hate the last scene, in the book, it shocked me and I almost cried, I still have to give it the full five stars. The author really puts us on the edges of our seats through the whole book and knocks us off with the last chapter.
It has everything I have come to expect; lots of action, suspense, thrills and more. I recommend this book/series to everyone, especially if you have read some of the Alex Rider books.

I liked learning more about Alex's family and I liked how he wavered a bit, but resolved his character.
I’ve been an avid reader of the Alex Rider books, and omg, this one had to be the best on yet! I’ve loved reading this series; like a blast from the past from my childhood. I was on the edge of my seat reading this, flicking through the pages so fast so I could get answers quicker!
There was a great amount of story and character development in this one, where we got to find out a little more about Alex’s parents and the fate of his father. I can’t wait to read on and find out more about what happens and I’ve loved these adventures with Alex so far.
And also, after that ending I really will have to read the next book!
