Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls (And Everything in Between)
Lauren Graham
I just really love Lauren Graham's writing/existing (yes, existing) style and she might just be one of my favorite actors. I can not be convinced that she and Lorelai Gilmore aren't the same person and this book made my soul so very happy
Lauren Graham narrating her own book was like listening to Lorelei talk about her life. It was the same fun anecdotes and if you listen to the speed of 1.25 times, it’s almost like you’re there witnessing a Gilmore girls production.

it makes me so happy that gilmore girls will forever be known as a timeless classic! My sopranos if you will
I really enjoyed this collection of essays and when you listen to the audiobook, it feels like Lauren Graham is just talking to you over coffee. It was a great, quick weekend listen. Lauren is funny and relatable, and you can see so much of Lorelei Gilmore and a little Sarah Braverman in her. I loved the little behind-the-scenes tidbits and her thoughts about Gilmore Girls, and her sincerity in talking about it made me tear up multiple times. GG fans will love that LG can't get over that cliffhanger series "finale" either and keeps questioning whether that's really it. ;)
The "Slap That Bass" story near the beginning had me cracking up at the end, and I want to share the "Old Lady Jackson" letter with everyone I know.
If you are like me and have wondered why she seems to always play the single mom, I think you get some good insight into this as she talks about her philosophies on aging and acting.
I could have done without the chapter about celebrity diets because (along with having to show you're so relatable) it's just overdone in celeb memoirs and it didn't seem to fit the flow of the rest of the book, but who knows? Maybe that's a requirement of celebrity memoirs now.
