I found it hard to maintain interest, almost DNFd but then realised I was at 93%.

This review sums it up beautifully, so I can’t be bothered writing it all out myself:

This was a solid 3 stars, no more, no less. The spice was on POINT (chapter 23? I mean come ON), but the story itself was kind of meh. I didn’t love it and I didn’t hate it. I’m unsure if I’ll read the rest of the series, though I admit Connor and Willow interest me more than Rose and Aiden did.

The speed at which Rose and Aiden accepted and moved on from the mistakes they made in their relationship in the past was extremely unrealistic to me and I felt like the points of conflict on the book weren’t fleshed out enough. There was barely any world building, and the constant inner monologue’s coming from Rose about how Aiden hurt her got tiring, especially since we didn’t get any of the thought process behind how she forgave him. It was more of a “poof! Snapped my fingers and all my problems are solved!” Kind of story.

This book had a lot of potential. There was so much that could’ve been that didn’t happen like I wouldn’t have been so complacent about the whole marriage situation and fought against it. But Rose just went along instead of showing real anger and she didn’t ask at all why Aiden was doing this and why he hurt her in the past before getting into the marriage.

I’m a sucker for grovelling and when they make up but I personally felt there wasn’t much to it there. And then they just have so much sex and I love reading spice but it was more sex than plot. Her job went out the window, her father disappeared and it was just more about Aiden than her life too. There was no balance.

I genuinely felt bad for Willow and I wish they did more to help her or take her in once she told them the truth but they left her to it and I wasn’t expecting that, especially from Rose.

It wasn’t completely boring and I did get through it but I usually finish books in a day so it took me a while to continue it. But I hope Connor and Willow’s story will be much better paced seeing how much she went through.

Solid 3 stars for this book. It was good but nothing to really rave about. I like that it wasn't a typical arranged marriage romance the characters did have a unique backstory where they went to school together and had a past relationship and you know things happened obviously so that was really interesting and the side characters their brothers were really interesting. So overall I did enjoy it.
