The Black Vampyre: A Legend of St. Domingo by Uriah Derick D'Arcy

sofipitch's review against another edition
fast-paced
This is not what you would call good, the forward says they don't know who the actual author is and I can see why I don't think he had much writing experience. But it is interesting as a historical document on pro-abolitionest literature (although the end throws that into question)
Also it liberally capitalizes entire words for emphasis and uses multiple explanation points, leading to one sentence that ended "a VAMPYRE!!!" It was kind of charming how universal some bad writing quirks are. This guy would have loved My Immortal
