Absolutely brilliant, from the design to the title and the history. The design features parallels and mirrors that add another layer to the story telling
Hall tells the untold stories of women slaves and I admire her bravery and determination as she went to great lengths to find their history. I found myself becoming livid and crying as I read about their history, please read care.

A beautifully told and vital story that deserves all the attention Hall gives it and more.

I was not a fan of the art style; while Martinez's stark black-and-white images really capture the emotions of Hall's story, I do not like the way he draws people. Which, in a story about people first and foremost, was a big drawback for me.
