This is definitely a reflective book. It made me think about my own life and what I might do if I went back to a certain time/place. Overall, a pleasant read, though I did find there was some inconsistencies and some parts dragged. It touches on love, grief, hope and family. It was fun at the same time as being thoughtful. I did feel the ending didn't sit quite right with the overall story, at least for me.

Refreshing to read a book about time travel that isn’t about saving the world! I would tag this as sci-fi too even though it’s more so about finding who you are and what you’re meant to be in life. I got 13 Going on 30 vibes from this!

This was a really fun read. I found myself really emotional as I thought of my parents aging. It provided a lot of reflection on living in the moment and appreciating your choices. It was really fast paced and I loved it!

If you go by the blurb, this book sometimes slightly loses track of what it should be, but never long enough for me to get impatient, which is also due to the writing. As a result this was surprising, but also sweet and reflective throughout. Once the time travel aspect finally picks up, for a while it serves more as a reminder that Alice can actively make choices in her own life than as a way to come to terms with what’s happening to her father. Once the focus gets back to their relationship however, is when the story really comes together.

This was a pretty special story. It was so relatable. I mean, who really knows what they want from life; what they would do if they could try again? I think, however, our main character, Alice, learns what truly has meaning in her life through trial and error. It was a touching and thoughtful story. Would totally read it again!
Fun fact: the author's father is Peter Staub.
