I couldn't get into it, it's one of my friend's favorite books and gave it to me to read, but I couldn't get into it. I didn't like the main character and the other characters were either nothing or weirded me out in the wrong ways. Just not my story, I guess?

"Even though we're extraordinary, I think we could still use a little help."

This was so good. I absolutely loved this. The plot was beautiful and sweet, and the characters were all so realistic and developed naturally. I loved their character arcs, and it was honestly addicting.

I would very strongly recommend this book.

If I could, I would give this a 3.5. I lean towards a 3 because overall it was just okay for me. In someways the explanation of Daniel’s challenges were oversimplified and lacked depth. However, in others ways, I do think the simplicity made it very appropriate for middle school aged readers. I like that this book created a relatable and likable character as it normalized the mental health struggles both Daniel and Sara experience. While the book was not for me, I am looking forward to recommending it to several of my students.

This was a very hard read for me for personal reasons. For my mental health I just couldn’t finish it.
