I considered DNF but forced my way through and found myself thinking about this story long afterwards. I’ll be first in line soon as Tae Keller’s next book comes out later this month.

reading this while my mom was in the hospital with stage 4 cancer. yeah. im currently lying in a puddle of my own tears. what makes this book good isnt the writing or characterization or world building (which are all great) but the way it makes the reader FEEL. which i understand is subjective and this review is obviously biased (what review isnt tho) but i truely believe this book is a masterpiece.

A really good book that combines Korean mythology into the story of a girl who is losing her grandmother while adjusting to living in a new town. It's a beautiful read and parts of it reminded me of Turning Red.
