This book really hit me in the feels. It took me back to a rather difficult time in my life and reminded me of the power of stories in processing strong emotions. I saw a bit of myself in both sisters. And was happy that they came together in the end.

I don’t know why I picked this book up, but it was a pleasant surprise. There is an overarching story throughout the novel that reflects the grandmother’s story and her past. I love that so much because it vaguely reminds me of Where the Mountain Meets the Moon (I think that’s what it’s called), which used to be one of my favorite books when I was younger. I really like how the family comes together in the end and how each character grows in their own way.
