Graphic: Animal death, Domestic abuse
Painfully predictable but still very enjoyable
This is a thriller told across dual timelines about obsession, secrets, and revenge. I appreciate when a novel’s character development causes me to question, mistrust, or even dislike the protagonist/narrator as the story unfolds. This story was gripping albeit predictable. Despite that, it was a quick and compelling read.

Well this is like a BOGOF of a book!
This fantastic story is a dual timeline which I adore, but unlike other books, this really felt like two books in one, rather than the ‘past’ being a filler. It was a struggle to not race ahead and read each timeline separately.
I loved the characters, both Rose and Eloise are the perfect twisted psychotics that we LOVE to see in a book, not sure who was worse

Rose is a strong single woman living on her own until the day her god daughter (Eloise) knocks on her door, cashing in on Rose's offer to help her whenever in need. You see, Eloise has the body of her abusive boyfriend in the trunk of her car and she needs Rose to help her hide the evidence. While Rose takes on significant changes to her quiet life, lurking in the background is her own personal history and baggage. The storyline started to lag a bit between present and past but a few twists were pretty good. Found my mind wandering a bit during this listen so I consider it good, but nothing I couldn't wait to tune back into.
