Did I just give this book 5 stars? Yes, I did. The cover and synopsis screamed smut and I did not expect anything beyond that. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how well written this book is. I have had to DNF many smut romances on Kindle Unlimited as I just could not stand the horrible grammar and sentence structures. The words just flowed so smoothly on the pages of this book.

You would expect nothing more than smut in a book about the physical embodiment of Lust. However, there were so much depth in what was supposed to be pure smut. In a true slow burn, Lust slowly discovered that there was more than physical pleasure as Selene allowed herself to fall for the demon king. Then Lust would say all those sweet things to Selene that just made you go awwwww. Those words were all the more profound since it was established that lust was all that he could feel.

This book was so good I was actually sad that it ended. I enjoyed feeling the love and emotions bloomimg between the two. Hamm is now my new must-read author!

This could have been at least 50 pages shorter. Certain characterizations were weird considering what the characters were and a lot of inner thoughts were overly repetitive. I kind of liked the idea for the story but the execution not so much, specially because certain plot points and characters often reminded me of other things I've read. And I've read much better smut in fanfiction too.

But this line? This line I loved.

This kiss was a good morning. And how are you doing and I hope you’re well, and if you aren’t, let me make it better for you.

First off, I’d like to thank the author, EMMA HAMM, for finally giving us some •S•P•I•C•E•

This book is enemies to lovers, forbidden romance, the bully who really loves you, has some rope play, and “let me fix you” vibes. It’s also based on the Seven Deadly Sins. So what’s not to love?

The book is a bit slow to start but it was a great read and when it got spicy, it got delicious. This book is about Selene (the sorceress) and Lust. Who is described as just YUM. It’s character driven not so much plot. Definitely recommend reading. Emma imagined an interesting world and system and two characters that are just so fun reading about. I am definitely getting the next book (which involves Greed next).

The characters didn’t interest me.  The romantic dynamic between the two main characters didn’t feel natural.

I’ll start off with saying i’ll recommend this one if you’re dipping your toes in to spicy fantasy/paranormal romance! Emma’s world building is great. The spice and passion? Also great. Let’s just say Lust is deliciously dirty, I can’t wait to read the second in the series!
