I read this for my 2020 Reading Challenge and the prompt was a book that passed the Bechdel. Not going to lie I had to research exactly what that meant. I figured a group of women who get together and discuss crimes fit the prompt. This is my favorite book series and this one did not disappoint.
This is still my very favorite James Patterson series. While the last couple had lacked something, this one definitely stepped up to the plate and delivered. Both cases - Yuki's and Lindsay's - were interesting, different, and refreshing. Yuki's kept me on my toes because I wasn't sure who was lying - him or her. Lastly, and I might be in the minority here, the less we see of Cindy the happier I am. She gets to be SO ANNOYING with her BUT I'M A REPORTER AND I HAVE TO WRITE THE NEWS! Sure, but you're willing to throw your friend under the bus for that story? Anyway, her role was very minimal in this novel so that's probably why I found it so much better than the last couple.

I feel like reading the description of this book isn’t exactly what you get, this one mainly focuses on the trial that Yuki is working on and the case Lindsey is working on comes second.
Which I personally find when the book mainly focuses on a trial it’s kind of boring but luckily these books are easy to get through.

The latest installment in the Women's Murder Club series is a quick and entertaining read. The plot revolves around two different cases; one, the shooting of several homeless individuals throughout a certain part of the city, and the second is the criminal case against Briana, a woman charged with raping a young man.
Looking forward to what the next installment in this series holds.

I would like to start off by saying I did NOT like the ending. Such a cliffhanger. And it isn’t even addressed in book 18. It’s driving me nuts! I need to know! This book seems to be trying to be stereotypical. Homeless people being killed and the police detectives couldn’t care less. I did enjoy how the stories intertwined. The storylines kept me reading. It could have been so much more, so many different ways things could have played out. I listened to this in audiobook on a road trip. I’m not sure if I would have gotten into it so much if I had been reading the physical book and an ebook. The narrator is so great, with different accents. She really brings the characters to life.
