I heard so many great things about this author and their book, Americanah, that I had to read this short story to see what their writing style was all about.
I'm so happy that I did, and now I want more!
I may not be from Nigeria, but I felt this woman's pain. I've had a child. I've had a man turn his back on me and that child. I related to this story in so many ways. I felt every moment of it, even if only in empathy.
Oh I love the way this author chooses words. A few I needed to look up and familiarize myself with their meanings. I enjoy that though. Her choice of words are as a profound as the story itself. Yes, I definitely want more!
