I absolutely ripped through it but I’m not sure what the point was. Didn’t dislike, however!

When I was in high school, my friend's mother once described to me a sermon from a visiting pastor that she had particularly liked. She liked it so much because she found it "convicting." Well, here we are! I find I liked this book quite a lot. I also find myself inspired to watch a lot of late nineties movies while in lockdown.

As much as I love the cover and the font, this book is a dumpster fire that shows white rich ladies as something to sympathize with when their wealthy parents die and they have too much money to spend. And this line on page ten:

"Did you know that Julie Delpy's a feminist? I wonder if that's why she's not skinnier. No way they'd cast her in this role if she were American. See how soft her arms are? Nobody here tolerates arm flab. Arm flab is a killer. It's like the SATs. You don't even exist if you're below 1400."

It's not funny, it treats drug misuse horribly, and it's incredibly insulting towards women and mental health. Highly recommend people avoid it.
