Unjustly destroyed by Marie Skye part 2 -- 5 stars

I started writing this review while I was only 10% into the story. Here’s what I was thinking: WTF! OMG! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? So of course I kept reading! This book picks up where part one left off so you must read that one first. Part two starts off with tension, hurt, and fear…oh my! Grayson and Emmalin are trying so hard to be together. They aren’t trying to hurt anyone or bother anyone they just want to be together. But alas, Marie Skye seems to be just a little twisted and wants them and us, the readers, to suffer just a little more than necessary.
The love these two have for each other is overwhelming to not only me, but even Emmalin. It’s the trust that she has to work on.

“I knew I had a choice, and while I’ve never safeworded him ever, I knew I had a choice. I briefly weighed my options. He wasn’t physically hurting me. I wasn’t in danger. I was just frustrated and annoyed."

When the past becomes too much for Emmalin to handle, instead of turning to her friends and even Grayson, she tries to handle everything her own way. And before we know it Grayson’s past jumps into the present to cause even more confusion and hurt.
After I had read the entire book my thoughts didn’t stray too much from my thoughts at the beginning!
Omg! Really it ended like that!! My heart hurts at the thought of how much heartbreak these two are going through. SO looking forward to reading the next part…here’s hoping Grayson and Emmalin fight hard enough for their happy ever after!

Unjustly destroyed is the second and unbelievably amazing book in the Incapable Series by Marie Skye. It follows on from where Incapable left off; and if you haven’t read Incapable yet- you really should because it’s honestly THAT GOOD! Reading the first book also sets you up for this one and will allow you to fully appreciate this story.
Emmalin Ross is desperately trying to escape the demons and trauma of her past. She has endured so much pain and sorrow in her life, most people would have given up by now- so the fact that she is still fighting is a testament to how strong, determined and gutsy she really is.
Grayson Mandrake is used to getting anything he wants and he wanted Emmalin from the moment he saw her. He even bought the company she worked for, to manoeuvre her into working for him. He will do anything and everything for Emmalin.
“She is fu*king mine…… My sl*t. My Vixen. My Heart. My World, and more importantly….. My Love”.
When Emmalin’s past begins to haunt her and opens up old wounds, Emmalin starts to unravel- and does everything she can to push Grayson away. She’s behaving quite differently from normal, but still needs sex as a way to deal with the pain and emotional turmoil she is experiencing.
“She wanted it rough and she wanted to fight, and I was going to give that to her”.
Grayson knows that Emmalin is hiding things from him and he is determined to find out what they are and deal with them. He is tenacious and unrelenting in his desire to keep her safe and help her defeat her demons. Outside forces seem to be conspiring to keep them apart and Grayson doesn’t cope well with not being in control of the situation.
“I am losing it. I feel like I don’t know what I am doing. For the first time in my life, I have absolutely no control over something and it’s driving me fu*king crazy………”
After reading the first book and being blown away by it, this book had a lot to live up to! Marie Skye did not disappoint!! This is much darker, more intense and explicit than the first book. From the very first paragraph to the very last word, I was engrossed- bingeing on this diabolically GOOD read. The story left me breathless and reeling- I didn’t need sleep…..I NEEDED ANSWERS!!
As with the first book, Ms. Skye has produced a really well written and salivatingly good story that has so many twists and turn, I found myself holding my breath and on the edge of my seat.
The chemistry between Emmalin and Grayson has increased to an almost animalistic level; when they get caught up in their passion- it’s so hot I swear my panties melted. Cold showers are the order of the day. Ms. Skye had me swooning over all the kinky details.
This story is told from a duel POV and ends in a cliff-hanger. The, “I screamed at my kindle” kind of cliff-hanger…. But I also know that I really, really can’t wait to get my hands on the next book so I can continue the story. It made me wish I was good friends with the author so I could call her (because a Good Friend would have her number- right?) and get an inside scoop on book three.
This book made me a junkie and Marie Skye is my Fix!

Thank-you Ms. Skye. >Air Kisses<

Emmalin has spent her life living in fear of her past and hiding her torturous secrets. But now that past is coming back to haunt her to torture her to destroy her. He wants her to feel pain, he has no remorse, he will get what he wants and nothing or no one is going to stop him. Grayson knows something is not right, something is destroying what is his, his life his happiness but what he doesn't know, because the one person who does won't let him in. As much as he is trying to protect her it is impossible when she has no thought for her own safety.
The story that Marie has written is intense but loving, dark and sexy, heart wrenching but beautiful.

And Unjustly Destroyed begins the way Incapable was delivered. DRAMATICALLY!!
Instant heart in throat, breath catching. Instantly. There I was, thinking there is no way the second book could top the first. If anything, I underestimated the capability of this author. The first paragraph had goosebumps rising all over my body. The anticipation was beginning to build and I was still on the first page. It is that good.

“What did I tell you about this? And what did I tell you about walking away from me? Seems you’ve forgotten a lot of things.”

Emmalin is attacked and Grayson is frantic. She won’t tell him if she knows her attacker. She will not open herself up completely to Grayson. Something holds her back. When will her torture end and when will she find peace and joy in life that she deserves? My heart hurts for her. Also for Grayson. She has found her soulmate in him and it owed to her to get her happy with him.

“Emmalin, I’m here. It’s just me. Only me. Follow my voice. You and me, remember? Stay with me, baby.”

Emmalin is fiercely independent. She has to be., because depending on others only gets her hurt, she believes. She refuses to allow her troubles to jeopardise everything Grayson has worked so hard for. She is adamant that she will fix her predicament. Grayson tries everything to get he to open up to him. But she is holding tight to her secret.

I did not think I could ache any more than I did while reading Incapable. But I was so wrong! It is pain and suffering at almost every turn of the page. A dark like no other. The most difficult to read. So hard to continue. But I must. I have to know. So beautifully broken.

“Death is never easy. We never get over it, no matter what we tell ourselves. Especially those that are taken from us too soon. Their stories are never finished, so you’re left with a bunch of blank pages, wondering what to do with them.”

There are some really poignant moments in this book, that totally rip into you, leaving you gasping at the tragedy of it all. If anyone deserves some goodness and light, it is Emmalin. Nothing has been in her control and she just keeps geting abused and tortured and hurt. She needs to have that fairytale with Grayson. It is well and truly hers. She has earned it.

“Tell me what to do to fix her, Mom. Tell me what to do.”

Grayson would be reduced to nothing without Emmalin. He needs her. She is his breath, his reason for living. He will need every strength he has, and more, as he is in the fight of his life. Getting back his world.

Can Grayson bring Emmalin back from the brink? Their lives are in the hands of fate. I ache to find out where they end up on the other side of this fight. Together? Happy? We shall see.

Unjustly Destroyed is a story of dominance, being pushed to the limits until there is a possibility of breaking beyond repair. A story of pain, suffering and heartache. It will destroy. It will also heal, leaving a a brutal beauty in it’s wake. A shattering and coming back together of all emotions. It will leave you stunned and enthralled.

It is a story of a love that reigns eternal, in spite of all the hideous situations they were thrown into. An all consuming passion Grayson and Emmalin have for each other that is enviable. Provocative in it’s complexity, and just oh, so salacious.

Marie Skye’s Incapable totally enamoured me. I am so glad to say that Unjustly Destroyed was the perfect compliment to Incapable, and brought new life, new drama, while continuing on their story. The intrigue, intensity and excitement were also ever present.

Again, I was taken to another level of literary bliss, quite happily immersing myself in absolutely everything Grayson and Emmalin. And yes, there was tragedy, but by gosh there was triumph.

That brings me to the end of this gripping tale, a little shaken, a lot stirred, because, MY GAWD, a cliff-hanger like no other! It has wrecked me. I need this conclusion to their story, like I need air to breathe. This author did destroy me with that ending. Her style is just so beyond addictive, I won’t be able to settle on another book completely, until I have read the last chapter of the third book.

I cannot point to one particular quality that has Marie Skye as my new literary obsession. It is everything!!! Even her acknowledgements have me riveted to every word. She brought something new to my reading experience, and now that I have it, I don’t ever want to let it go.

If you readers out there don’t enjoy cliffhangers, then stay far, far away. Just kidding. Go get these books, become totally immersed in them. Live them. Breathe them. Take comfort in the fact that yes, you will have their stunning conclusion to look forward to. I can promise you, that if you take the chance with this series, it will be an experience you will cherish for a long time after your journey with Grayson and Emmalin has ended.

My beautiful escape into this authors work is just the beginning.
