When Lucius' father suddenly disapears, accused of being a traitor, it leaves their family in shame and poverty. Lucius is the only one who believes in his father's innocence. But with his brother off training to become a gladiator and his scheming uncle who's got it in for the family, will Lucius, with the help of his new friend, be able to clear his father's name?
This was a fun light read which brings you into the other side of the vast, rich roman life. My favorite character was Isadora who was very selfless in my opinion and wanted to do all she could to help Lucius.
Blood Oath in three words: Gladiators, Deception, Poverty
3 1/2 stars because I enjoyed it but felt that the writing could have been better in places.
