Just like the last two of these books, this one was really fun and had a quite creative plot with fun writing.
The only thing keeping this from a 5 star is that the plot is getting a little to repetitive at times and there is an androgynous character that is written as a monster which I found pretty transphobic.

I didn’t really like how the “person who was neither a man nor woman” was described as “it”… could have easily just been described as “they” but then again the book came out 21 years ago so what’s done is done I suppose. That’s about it though.aquakerwitch's review against another edition

The transphobia in this book is infuriating. The person who “looks like neither a man nor a woman” isn’t given a name, but is repeatedly referred to as a “creature” and “it”. The series hasn’t aged well in this respect.
