”Plotty twisty“.
I was hooked from the start and couldn’t put the book down. There was so much going on — constant plot twists, new revelations in every chapter — and all the while, you’re just sitting there thinking, What on earth happened to Rachel?!
I enjoyed it a lot, and the fast pace kept me reading, but eventually it felt like everyone was coming unhinged. Things started to spiral into the unbelievable, and the whole story got a bit over the top.
They all need therapy. Seriously .
A few things bothered me toward the end. For one: what is Jeff even doing? His brother is trying to kill his sister-in-law, and instead of helping, Jeff holds Bel back. I get that he’s trying to protect her, but he comes off as totally detached and clueless … like he’s living in his own world.
And forcing Sherry to leave? At that point, it felt like too much. It felt like one twist too many, more dramatic than necessary, and it pushed the story into the unbelievable…

Book Review
This book is described as “A new true-crime fueled mystery thriller” and it was indeed just that! It got started a tad show and then it was rocking and rolling. The main character Bel was pretty unlikable, but I think it was on purpose and she had been through so much! I did like her more by the end of the book.
A Good Girls Guide to Murder still ranks higher in my book, but I would still totally recommend this one, especially if you liked the above mentioned title. This book was full of mystery and intrigue! It took a turn I totally didn’t see coming and the ending was a surprise (I loved the ending!) There was more to this book as well than just a good mystery. It had lots of family dynamics, loyalty and justice themes throughout.
Teaser Quote:
“The name Rachel Price is almost synonymous with mystery. Because her disappearance was like a puzzle, and it's human nature to want to solve a puzzle, don't you think?"
