Dynamic and compelling, and written in a way that got me to pause and think sometimes, which I love. I appreciated the Catholicism vs morality woven in as well. Romeo and Juliette, but if Romeo was pure evil?

Greene uses a gang-murder-thriller to discuss Catholic guilt, and Good & Evil vs. secular Right & Wrong. He is a master. Now it's a film starring Helen Mirren? Can't wait!

wasn't in the mood for a 1930s thriller, which is a fairly important qualification lol

loved the bri’ish aesthetic, didn’t really click with me in a huge way but greene has such brilliant prose that every chapter has a golden sentance… also morrissey referenced this book!!!
