Admittedly, I did not think I would enjoy this collection of novellas when I picked it up. I thought I would just get through them and move on.
BOY I WAS WRONG.
These made me appreciate Celaena and the Lore of her life so much more. The short adventures were fast-paced and fun to read (until the emotional damage at the end).

hot take, i kind of wish i would’ve read this before i started the series. it was hard to take a break from the storyline i’m following & then jump back in time. this would’ve been a nice way to start the series off & i feel like i would’ve picked up more when i started the series.

I really enjoyed this one a lot; I can see why SJM recommends you read this 3rd in the lineup - your POV of the first 2 books changes a little & learning why she did & said certain things... the callbacks were really fantastic. beautifully intertwined.
