I read this book in-between Crown of Midnight and Heir of Fire, and let me tell you, in my opinion- THIS IS THE CORRECT WAY TO READ IT!!!! I was told to read it first by some people but ultimately decided to read it after the first two books. I don't think the book would've hit as hard if I read it first, so I'm glad I didn't.

Can we please talk about Sam and Celaena????????????? I knew Sam was going to die because I read the first two books, but it still hit so hard. All the references from the first two books make so much sense now!!!!

Admittedly, I did not think I would enjoy this collection of novellas when I picked it up. I thought I would just get through them and move on.

BOY I WAS WRONG.

These made me appreciate Celaena and the Lore of her life so much more. The short adventures were fast-paced and fun to read (until the emotional damage at the end).

hot take, i kind of wish i would’ve read this before i started the series. it was hard to take a break from the storyline i’m following & then jump back in time. this would’ve been a nice way to start the series off & i feel like i would’ve picked up more when i started the series.
