Objectively, I know House Andrews found the writing of this book very hard. Between the shitshow that the state of the world was, the burnout, the health difficulties and whatnot, it cannot have taken more out of them than it did. But I cannot see any of those difficulties when reading this. I've just devoured the entirety of Catalina's trilogy in three days and there has been no drop in the quality of the writing, no moment where it seemed like House Andrews might have dropped the ball. The plot arc is superb, the convoluted web of events beautifully put together. I loved it.

It was nice to see the realistic difficulties that struck Alessandro and Catalina's relationship, bearing in mind that they're very different people from Rogan and Nevada. Their interactions were true to form, and hell, Konstantin gave me one hell of a scare, though it is nice to see that more people appreciate Catalina.

If we don't get more books in this universe, I'm probably going to die. Arabella absolutely needs her own series (that scene at the end was magnificent), and probably Leon and Augustine as well. There's a lot of characters in this universe, and they need to have their stories told!

All in all, a perfect ending for Catalina's arc and very much looking forward to the next one, whenever House Andrews is ready.

A very satisfying conclusion for Catalina & Alessandro, I thought. Throughout their trilogy, weirdly, I didn’t enjoy them as much as Connor & Nevada on an individual level, but enjoyed them more as a couple, if that makes any sense.

There was a lot of action going on (though it all came to a head and wrapped up rather too quick, but I’ll forgive that), and some very intriguing secrets were revealed. The side characters always provide great interactions (Leon = ♥️♥️) and there’s a fun little side-story with a very expensive spider on the loose in the house - I love this new found family of the Baylor / Harrison / Etterson Houses.

I can’t wait to see what Arabella’s future holds - and is that a love triangle I see unfolding?!? Two very interesting paths ahead.
