Each book can be read as a stand alone while each book connects with each other seamlessly.

Book 1: Firstly, elegantly written in opulent language. Despite being a retelling, the brilliant plot has some major curveballs. The well-rounded characters are realistic and moving. The narration is third point of view, and follows several characters seamlessly. The ending was perfectly done. The book held my attention well and I did not want to put it down. The book is also a clean read. This one is my favorite out of the box set.. Overall, remarkably well written.

Book 2: A great retelling that was engrossing. The plot excelled nicely and the characters are well rounded. This one is my second favorite out of this box set. Overall, very well written.

Book 3: This is the third book in this series I have read. It didn't intrigue me until chapter 10. Up to that point, the book was laying out the characters, the plot, generally introduction; mainly a little slow. After that, then the plot excelled nicely, then late middle toward the end, climbed. Like all of the previous books, it had a thoughtful conclusion for most of the characters. I like how each book in this series can be read as a standalone, but also connect with another; and this book continues on that concept. The book had well rounded characters and political unease; it held suprises. Overall, very well written.
