I am doing the alternate reading with B&A and F&F intertwined. Once again, the banter is chefs kiss🤌  Sera and Nyktos are the power couple I needed. I love every aspect of them! The side characters are amazing and keep me entertained and enthralled. The Primals, minus Veses (lol), are cool to learn more about and get a feel of. The plot, the scheming, the realms, and the romance make it so easy to lose yourself in these books. I'm jumping right into the next and am dying to see what is to come for the couples of both series 👑🩸

Sera and Nyktos taking the trope of two idiots in love to a new level. This entire series/franchise has a clutch on me. It was repetitive at times, especially Sera’s inner thoughts. But honestly I can relate. I have repeatedly told myself negatives about myself no matter how I was told different. And honestly the whole “Nyk can’t love” is bullshit cause đź‘€ lbffr

I loved this one. The best book between both series so far. The development that Sera and Ash make in their relationship but also in themselves is amazing. Jennifer Armentrout does a great job of showing these sweet intimate thoughtful moments in between hot and sexy passionate scenes.

The mix of adventure through exploring more of illeseeum, swoon-worthy romance, and anticipation for how they would develop a plan to defeat Kolis had me unable to put it down.

The betrayal at the end and the revelation of truths was so wild and sets up the next book. I’m excited to see how the series will unfold.

For the first half I liked this better than the first, but I was less convinced as it dragged on. I wanted more personality from the secondary characters.

Better than the last book. Lots of crucial plot information. I read this book faster because I was actually interested this time. They bangin bangin. Sometimes it for real felt like every other chapter but, I understand the point of that within the relationship development of the characters. 3.75 because I found it more enjoyable than the last book. I like the way JLA is writing the characters in this series vs FBAA. The characters are more tolerable.

BE MINDFUL OF READING ORDER.
I’m realizing I should have read A Shadow In The Ember and then The War of Two Queens and THEN A Light In The Flame. I read AWOTQ before both of the books in this sub series and I will need to reread to capture all of the details.

I loved how to really got to see Sera naturally shape herself into someone so powerful. How she shed the veil and put it back on to suit her needs. How she embraced her primal power despite believing it wasn't really her power. How she struggled and grew throughout this book was so compelling. Ash is also very... compelling. A shadow daddy of the first class.

All of the scenes with Jadis, Reaver, and Nektas are my favorite. I'm so glad JLA wrote so much of them into the story. Though, it also makes me sad to think of what we'll learn about Jadis in the next FBAA book.

I still can't believe what happened to
Ector
at the end. I had gasped then held my breath while reading that part and I swear I felt Sera's pain.
