Ending dropped the ball a bit. But intriguing all around.

A quick little look into a backwater planet like none I've ever read of before. It was fun to see how neatly she managed to package all the themes into those quick 200 pages. Feminism and gender roles, what it means to be human, even the dangers of blind devotion.

I always enjoy anything by this author, and I'm pleased to see that Starmother was no exception. Van Scyoc is wonderful at what she does, and leaves just the right amount of story untold to satisfy me.
